Fees

These can be provided on a time based hourly rate or a fixed lump sum for cost certainty.

 

Scope of works and level of service.

The brief for engineering services can be tailored and agreed to suit the project / clients requirements. The range of services that can be provided is wide and can differ from project to project but also practice to practice. Please refer to Table A1.6 of the downloadable Guide for clients, see above.

As a professional company, we carry the required Professional Indemnity and public liability insurances.

All projects are led by a Chartered Structural Engineer (C.Eng, I.Struct.E) from start to finish.

 

Preliminary Sizing of Structural Elements ( Rule of thumb only to allow initial architects design, full analysis and design is required to confirm the exact size)

Rafters                                   – depth = span / 24

Purlins                                   – depth = span / 12

Floor Joists (domestic)      – depth = span / 24 + 25 to 50mm.

Primary Steel Beams          – depth = span / 12

Secondary Steel Beams      – depth = span / 15

Freestanding wall                – thickness = height / 6 to 8.5
